STREETVIEW STABILIZED & COMBINED – Bryant Rams Toronto Cyclist Sheppard – Security Cameras view it.

A digital stabilization and combination of 2 security cameras. With stable footage, using Google Streetview and the reflections of streetlights on the car, I was able to correctly align the footage, showing there is an overlapping region, and the few missing seconds on the colour footage may show events more clearly since Sheppard was stopped at least partially within its field of view. The Benetton camera points West along the sidewalk, and the Wall camera points Southeast. This is cut from security camera footage showing the car driven by former Ontario Attorney General Michael Bryant ramming cyclist Darcy Allan Sheppard, immediately prior to Sheppard’s death from being dragged down the street, colliding with obstacles and being run over. My blog honestedits.blogspot.com has streetview links to the camera locations. *** This footage is unaltered except: re-sizing / cropping to fit, whole frame re-positioning for stabilization, overall brightness contrast adjustment for clarity, cuts between camera angles, and unavoidable artifacts from the video compression algorithms used on the source footages and youtube publishing. – Music is “Ride On” by Christy Moore

  1. incredible work, many thanks honestedits.

  2. Holy crap, well done!

  3. That is almost everything I can do with the footage.. There is one more technique I might try… Sorry for all the variants, just posting them as I complete each enhancement.

Check out the B&W STABILIZED clip on its own. Right at the beginning, it seems that the passenger might be slapping Bryant. You can see her arm go up across the car, and his head over the windshield snaps back quickly.

  4. I don’t see much there, I think it’s more likely that she spots Sheppard and Bryant turns to see what she’s pointing at. This could indicate that the dispute between the motorists and the cyclist started earlier. It could also indicate that the passenger was partly responsible for instigating the altercation as well.

  5. the motion shows crisper in the edit software. thanks for the input, that could be true.

  6. I want to favorite this because it’s excellently put together and great work, but I can’t do it because I never want to see it again.

We can only hope for justice in this case.

  7. You’ve really done your homework, honestedits. Let’s hope prosecutor Speck is as dedicated.

  8. I understand completely! As soon as I assembled the evidence, I had a duty to post it despite my distaste with it. Check today’s Globe and Mail article for their sickening interpretation of events.

Given this weekends brutal deaths on Finch, then the fight and lethal hit and run on Adelaide, I posted a commentary comparing media and police treatments, link is at the end of this video and on my homepage.

Stand on Guard Canada! Our media’s dirty laundry is hanging out on this one.

  9. I mean Peck!

  10. Makes even more sense now from the top down view there. Thanks for that…

  11. That collision on Finch was absolutely disgusting. The police even said this driver, who was traveling over 200km/h (Toronto’s got a 50km/h max unless otherwise posted on streets), has had previous encounters with the police related to driving offenses. And it almost adds insult to injury when drunk drivers leave the scenes with just scratches. The guy who did this accident should get life in prison. But drunk drivers are only treated as bad drivers, not as criminals with intent.

  12. God bless man, keep it up!

  13. So the ex-head of law in Ontario … .

This is unbelievable. Once again our University trained elite acts above the law.

  14. thanks for posting, media coverage had me thinking mr. sheppard was the instigator. passing the saab he was putting himself in a position where he would not be rear ended if he stopped in the dark behind bryant’s car. bryant’s reaction to a cyclists self preservation is sickening. if he has any humanity he should plead guilty, take his punishmenrt and make a commitment to provide for mr. sheppards children.

  15. time 0:42 Darcy passes on the left and cuts in front of car. Can cyclists legaly do that while cars can’t?

  16. “interlink” Just my words!
May the driver stricken by lightning for two hours.

  17. @dawgawful regardless – such an infraction certainly is not punishable by RAMMING WITH CAR …. ?

this video clearly shows some guy on his bicycle cut in front of a car and gets off his bike and it looks like he is saying something to the driver. looks like driver gets scared and starts to pull away but bike rider wont move out of way. driver probably scared and tries to flee, hitting bike and rider. both people seem to be in the wrong here, especially bike rider being very confrontational and controlling. if bike rider got hurt its 100% his fault. dont cut off a car and make it stop

bike rider was clearly in the wrong. who the hell is stupid enough to cut off and stop a car. then yell at car driver and scare him and then not get out of the way when it is clear the driver is scared and wants to leave. bike rider is a bonehead. was he hurt or worse.
