Security Camera Catches Home Intruder
July 2009 Customer Success Story Contest: 2nd Place. When our customer went to work on June 18, 2009, she had no idea that her home and family would be the target of a break-in that could have ended tragically. Here is the story in her own words: “I left to go to work, leaving my fourteen year old daughter at home alone. Shortly after I arrived at work, my daughter called frantically, ‘Mom, someone was just ringing the doorbell and now I hear a noise in the house.’ I was less than ten minutes away so I immediately started heading back home. I also called the police on my way to alert them to what had just occurred at my residence. I called my daughter back to ask her if someone got inside the house. She was crying and said, ‘Yes, he was standing in my doorway!’ I asked her if he was still inside the house. She said that she didn’t know. She was too scared to move. When I arrived home, the burglar was gone and my daughter was physically unharmed. However, she was extremely shaken up and afraid. While the police officers were interviewing me, I told them that the burglar was caught on my home video surveillance system. They downloaded the video and have been actively seeking this suspect since the burglary.”
