Lock Expert Picks Locks, Brings Awareness to Major Security Flaws

www.brickhousesecurity.com?utm_source=youtube&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=ytmedia – Lock expert, Marc Weber Tobias has made a living of picking locks. The goal of this process is to highlight problems in security to hopefully prompt manufacturers to create a better, more secure product. Tobias argues that lock standards aren’t good enough and that manufacturers should be responsible for making an effective product. BrickHouse Security, a leading retailer of these high end locks has been working with Marc Weber Tobias in an attempt to carry the best and most secure product possible. Many other manufacturers, have chosen to ignore Tobias’ warnings and continued to sell a faulty product to its customers. Unlike these manufactuers, BrickHouse Security remains dedicated to carrying the best products possible, which is why they recently discontinued sales of the BioLock 333 after it was proven insecure. 1. I am new to picking, but do what I do on youtube to try help all the genaral public…. If I can do what I do now, who knows or what will happen in later. Companies buid, make locks etc… BUT NOT LONG AFTER ….. PICKED OR MANIPULATED

      Thanks for the video

    2. It sounds like a lot of the lock manufacturers rely on the old “security through obscurity” – by relying on the inner workings (and flaws) of their locks remaining secret, rather than by designing better locks.

The same issue has come up in the field of cryptography many times, and it’s generally accepted that a good mechanism requires only the _key_ to be kept secret, not the details of the mechanism itself (which might be discovered through careful inspection or a rubberhose attack).
