How do those cat burgulars defuse them alarm systems?

I was just wondering, how do them cat burgulars break into them high security buildings and get away with it? Do they have like a school for that or a place that shows you how to get through the alarm systems? How do they defuse the alarm systems? I tried it one time at my house and I can’t seem to figure out how they do it… I tried shooting a laser into the screen of the motion detector but the alarm goes off anyways. And my mom gave me a whoop as afterwards( this was when I was in high school) I’m still curious how they do it. Anyone has any clues or advice on how to do it? I would appreciate your help.

First of all, I don’t know where you get your wisdom from in that "…those cat burgulars defuse them alarm systems…"?
If that’s what you see on TV or in Movies, then be careful, most of those tricks really only work in movies.

But then again: Alarm systems are designed by clever humans, so there are other clever humans who know how it works, and therefore, what the weak points of those systems are.
