Video security systems are of use to you whether your intention is to use it at your place of work, or alternatively at your home to protect your personal property and family.  The cameras can either be used as evidence if the unthinkable ever happens and your property is broken into, or they can be a very good deterant to stop this from happening.

A switcher is used to connect together two or more video cameras to a central monitor. But you can get more advanced switchers which allow you to connect in alarms. The reason for doing this is that the corresponding camera is locked whenever the alarm is triggered.
